 Bethany Community of Hope

Bethany Community of Hope is a 501 c3 non-profit community for women whose purpose is to provide safe, secure housing, vocational training, support services, and educational opportunities for women who are in recovery from sex trafficking, prostitution, and drug addiction. Our mission statement is based on Isaiah 61: 1, “to preach good tidings to the poor, heal the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” We have a home, called Stella’s House which is available now.  We have the capacity for four women who are willing to apply and comply with the  Operational Guidelines, which are based on those of the already successful, Magdalene Homes and Thistlefarms enterprise in Nashville, Tennessee, begun in 1997 by Becca Stevens, Episcopal chaplain for Vanderbilt University.
Stella’s House offers a secure setting which enables the residents to experience peace, safety and rest for the adjustment period of three months before they move into employment or further education.  After the first three months, residents make a graduation plan they wish to accomplish over the next months they are with Stella’s House.  Completion of those goals signals the transition to successful living as the next step in the resident’s journey to freedom.
